About Us
History
Western Research Laboratories was founded in 1934 by
Dr. William McClymonds of Denver, Colorado. Dr.
McClymonds built a strong foundation that quickly made
Western Research Laboratories a great success. The
philanthropic nature of Dr. McClymonds - his silent
charitable donations and kind nature made him a
cherished and respected member of the Denver
community. His humane and ethical essence was the very
foundation upon which Western Research Laboratories
was developed.
Dr. McClymonds was described as a 'genius' in
chemistry by one of his obituary authors. He developed
the natural thyroid medications, Westhroid™ and
Nature-Throid™, which remain two of the most popular
natural forms of thyroid treatment to date. Natural
thyroid hormone treatment instantly became Western
Research Laboratories signature medication, and we
continue to be leaders in this field. In 1949, under
the title of National Glandular Society, Western
Research Laboratories initiated the very first meeting
of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP).
Licensure
Currently, Western Research Laboratories, located in
Tempe, AZ, leads the industry in offering top quality
prescription, OTC and nutritional supplements not only
to Bariatric Physicians, but other Medical and
Holistic Practitioners. Possessing a State Board of
Pharmacy Manufacturing License, DEA Manufacturing
License and FDA Labeler Code, we offer quality control
and assurance. Because of the licensure, Western
Research Laboratories operates under regulatory
oversight that is substantially greater than that
of other nutritional manufacturers. |
